Travel to Eurista Development Workshop

02 June 2009

ScreenWest is providing the opportunity for two Western Australian script editors or script development professionals to attend the Eurista week-long residential workshop in Tasmania in mid-July.  If you are interested in attending the workshop, submit your application to ScreenWest by 5:00pm Monday June 22, 2009.

Taking place from July 12 to 18, 2009, the Eurista Workshop is designed with a strong, practical emphasis on developing the skills of story developers.

The workshop will work with seven project teams and 14 development specialists from around Australia through an accelerated development process.  Each of the selected developers will be assigned to an individual project (two developers per project) and will work together under the tutelage of one member of the Eurista team.  Stephen Cleary will be leading the workshop and his team will include Simon van der Borgh, Paddy Caneen and Peter Speyer.

Teams and developers will be of varied experience levels and at different stages of development.  As such, teams will be assigned developers at an appropriate level of experience and skill for their stage of development.  Developers can be anyone working in script development who wants to further their knowledge and skill base through practical application of development techniques.

ScreenWest (with assistance from Screen Australia) will provide the successful applicants with $4,000 to cover the cost of the course and an additional $2,000 for accommodation, meals and travel expenses.

To apply, please complete the ScreenWest application form and attach a one page CV and a one to two page cover letter explaining why this opportunity would be beneficial to your career as a local developer in film and television.

Before you submit your application please refer to the eligibility criteria on ScreenWest's Practitioner Development Travel guidelines page to ensure you qualify for entry.

Once complete, please email the above information to ScreenWest Funding Team Leader Shannon Jenkins at funding@screenwest.com.au.

Applicants also need to highlight in their application if they will be available to attend the workshop from July 12 to 18, 2009 inclusive (plus travel).
