Location Scouting Assistance

Interstate and international production companies and producers seeking to scout locations in Western Australia for documentary, television and/or feature films may be eligible for ScreenWest assistance. Upon application, ScreenWest can provide access to our database of location information and photographs.

Location Images

ScreenWest has an extensive locations gallery available online, which can give you a fast visual impression of the wide variety of locations available in Western Australia, including the Kimberley, the outback and desert regions, the bush, vineyards, forests, and mountains.

Tourism WA also has a new video site westernaustralia.tv, with footage of key locations including Broome, the Kimberley region, Perth and more. ScreenWest's Promotional Trailer also showcases WA locations as well as recent WA productions.

Our site also has a fast facts page, containing a wealth of information about shooting in WA, covering a wide range of topics such as flight times, protocols and permits.

Location managers


ScreenWest can assist in the commissioning of a location scout or manager for your film, to provide further information about how WA can work for you.

Contact ScreenWest directly for more information, or the ScreenWest Register of Western Australian Location Managers lists location managers experienced in international and domestic feature film, television and television commercial production and is available below. 

Inbounds and recces

ScreenWest can also engage the services of a registered Western Australian Location Manager, when required, to further assist by scouting possible locations and providing a report and photographs. Scouting is approved at ScreenWest's discretion.

Permits

Where permits are required, ScreenWest staff can assist you in contacting the right person within local councils, national parks, state government authorities, indigenous groups and emergency services.
