Pre-Vis 2009: Film development – an AWG panel discussion

The panel discussion on film development with screen practitioners Vincent Sheehan, Duncan Thompson, Sue Murray and Victoria Treole on Wednesday July 8, 2009 is now at full capacity. With over 50 people attending, the panel hosted by ScreenWest Project Manager, Drama and Development Victor Gentile is set to be an information packed networking evening.

Successfully developing and financing a feature film requires strong creative engagement between several collaborators. The panel will address such questions as:

  • What do you need to know to create a screen story that the market will believe in strongly enough to make a commitment?
  • What are the elements involved in getting a script produced and what's your competition for market commitment and production dollars?
  • How can you prepare yourselves and your projects for the challenge of financing your story in a local and international market that seems determined to invest greater amounts in fewer projects?
