Digital workshop: from concept to pitch

After overwhelming demand for the first digital workshop, a second full-day workshop will be held on February 11, 2011. Spend a day with digital professionals and workshop a hypothetical digital project from concept to pitch. You will work as part of a small team of creatives, mentored by digital pros and at the conclusion of the day you will have the skills and knowledge to prepare a digital project submission for X|Media|Lab Perth 2011.

Presented by the Department of Culture and the Arts, ScreenWest and Murdoch University, the workshop is open to artists and filmmakers who have basic or limited knowledge of digital media but who are eager to explore creative opportunities and develop a project for X|Media|Lab Perth. Digital professionals should also attend for the opportunity to network with artists and filmmakers.

Participants will be divided into small teams that represent a mix of skills. The digital mentors - Aaron KennedyAmanda MorrisonAnna Crane, Claire Read-Smith, Evan Cunningham-Dunlop, Gareth Lockett, Kirsten Vang and Tim Elleston - will assist teams to create a hypothetical digital pitch that addresses the brief for X|Media|Lab Perth 2011 and meets the selection criteria of the X|Media|Lab Perth Development Award.

This workshop is free and will be fully catered however you must register to attend by emailing rsvp@screenwest.wa.gov.au with a completed Expression of Interest for which you can download here.

Please write DIGITAL WORKSHOP in the Subject line of your email and in the body of your email please identify if your main work is related to the arts, filmmaking or digital media.

If you attended the first workshop you may still RSVP, however preference will be given to first time attendees.
